Happy Easter!
Here are some pictures from Sunday...Marc sang at Thomas Road Baptist Church with the choir. You can see him sing at www.trbc.org and then click on video streaming. It was amazing! We are so excited about the doors the Lord is opening up for us and this new ministry. Check out Marc's news page on his website at www.marcivey.com to see some of the amazing opportunities the Lord is allowing.
Hope you enjoy!

Long Awaited Update

I know it has been way too long since I have updated the blog. Things are going great for us! For many of you who do not know, I am 19 weeks pregnant. We are very excited about the blessing the Lord has given us.
A lot has taken place over the last few months...Marc's Dad passed away right before Thanksgiving. So finding out that I was pregnant was a real blessing! It seemed to give us something to celebrate during such a sad time. Please continue to pray for Marc as he deals with the loss of his father daily. They were very close and Marc talked with him on a daily basis. We all know that he is much better off, but is greatly missed. I know I personally miss his call I would get every weekend, just to make sure Reed and I were okay. He was a great man and had a giving spirit. We thank the Lord for the time we had with him. One of the last things that Marc said he remembers was the week before his dad passed away, he had called and Reed wanted to talk and all he kept saying to him was, "I Love You...Big Daddy, I Love You...Big Daddy!" Marc said he must have said it ten times. What a great memory to have!
My mother is doing pretty well, she went to the doctor this pass week and her blood count is still very low! They told her that she needed to rest and let her body heal! If any of you know my mom personally, we all know that she is not very good at resting! :-) She goes back to the doctor in a month and hopefully her blood count will be up. Please continue to keep her in your prayers.
So now a little about the important person in Marc's and my life....REED!
Reed will be three years old on March 9...I can't believe how fast he is growing up and changing right before our eyes into a little man! He has such a sweet spirit about him and Marc and I both feel that he is going to be a servant. He already wants to take care of everyone...If my mom needs help getting up, he is right there to say, "Nana, I help you!" And if I am upset, "He climbs up in my lap and starts kissing me and saying, "What's wrong, mama?" But I think one of my favorite things he says is, when he hugs you, he'll say, "I got you!" As if he saying I will protect you! He is just so fun to be around and really has a funny sense of humor...we all know he gets that from his dad. He is already going around and telling knock, knock jokes and he laughs after he tells them to you. I always ask him, "Where is my big boy?" and he always points to himself and says, "Right here, mama!" Then I will go on to ask, "Where is mama's baby?" and he will point to my stomach. Well, the other day he saw a real baby and I said, "Where is mama's baby like that?" He said, "I don't know!" With this look of like, "Where did you put it?" :-) Although he is getting so big, I think he will always be my baby!
Marc is doing well, he is starting his new ministry and things are really taking off, we can definitely see where God's hand is all over this new ministry. He is having a website built and should be up and running here in the next week or so. You can check it out at www.marcivey.com he also has a blog that he will keep updated as things progress, www.marcivey.blogspot.com
I am doing great, the pregnancy is going wonderful! I have not been sick one day with morning sickness, the only thing that seemed to slow me down was this yucky cold that was going around. But besides that all is well! I go to the doctor on Monday and hopefully a couple of weeks after that we will find out what we are having.
I know this is long, but I wanted to give you an update on what is going on in the life of the Ivey's. Hope all of you are well and may God Bless you!

Halloween/Pumpkin patch pictures
Reed loved when people would come to door...in one of the pictures you can see him looking out the window to see who was at the door. :) There is one picture at the bottom of Reed holding his balloon and then the next picture he looks sad, well that is because his balloon popped and he was not very happy! He had so much fun..that everyday since Halloween, he has wanted to put his clown outfit on and ask me to paint his face. I hope you enjoy!
Just a quick update on mom...she had her chemo this past Tuesday and it seemed to go pretty well. She was still very weak and sick on her stomach, but definitely not as bad as the last time when she ended up in the hospital. She is scheduled to go back for another treatment the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and needless to say, she is not very happy about that! Please continue to keep her in your prayers. I am going to be making gift baskets, wreaths and little girls dresses between now and the holidays to help raise some money to pay for Mom's bills. So, if you would like to order something please let me know. I will try and get some pictures posted soon for you to look at. And the baskets make great Christmas presents.
Thank you again and we love you all!!!

It has been a while!
Some of the pictures I have posted are from when we went to see the Wiggles in D.C. as you can see by the expression on Reed's face...he was mesmerized! When we got ready to leave he was on his dad's shoulders and he said "Bye Wiggles...I love you wiggles!" Talk about breaking your heart, it was at that very moment, he could have asked for anything...and I probably would have given it to him. :) haha!
Not much has changed here in the Ivey household...although it does seem like we are a little or a lot busier than we have been. And I am sure that will only get worse once the holidays fast approach.
Many of you have been asking about my mom. She is still doing about the same. She has been unable to have a full chemo treatment due to her white blood cells being low. She is scheduled for a treatment on Tuesday, so please be in prayer that her count is up and all will go well. I think she is getting very discouraged going to the doctor on a weekly basis and being told that she has to come back because her count is too low. Mom wanted to let all of you know that she really appreciates getting all the cards...they are really encouraging her and it really shows her how many people out there are praying for her and love her dearly! I will try and update once she goes to the doctor, so check back!
We love you all and have a great day!

Update on Mom!
Mom was scheduled to have a second set of treatments on Monday, September 12, but after going to doctor the Wednesday prior they said that her white blood count was still too low. She went back to the doctor yesterday (Tuesday) and they did one treatment and her count had gone back up. She is very tired and her immune system is still very low!
Marc, Reed and I were able to go and visit for a couple days over the labor day weekend and we really enjoyed the visit. I know Reed really enjoyed seeing Nana and Papa and I think it really lifted mom's spirits. My brother Donnie was also able to make a quick visit this past weekend and mom was surprised and was thrilled to see him.
A blessing is that the knot on the side of Mom's neck has gone down and she is very excited about that!
Please continue to lift mom and dad up in your prayers. We are so blessed to have friends and family that continue to pray for our family during this time.

New Pictures!
Thank you to all of you who have been praying for my mom. She spent a couple of days in the hospital this week, due to being dehydrated and her white blood cells dropping a lot lower than they should have. She is back home and although she is tired, she is feeling better! She goes Friday to the doctor for them to run more blood work and see how she is doing. Please continue to keep her in your prayers!
Thank you,
Alaina
